Okay, Bill. Let's you and me bang heads. You have to be pretty brave to put out a reference guide for movie gags, given the sheer volume and voracity of movie geeks out there. Accordingly, you have to be extremely accurate. Let's talk examples:
Oliver Stone's many cameos are revealed, yet he misses the most important one of all: Oliver Stone's self-deprecatory cameo as himself in the movie, "Dave". Duh!
The joke spaceship in the climactic battle scene of "Return of the Jedi" was a tennis ball, not a tennis shoe!
Okay, so I'm being pedantic, but it does seem that a lot of the information in this book is unresearched heresay. There are, however, enough dweeby bits of ephemera to make this well worth reading. It's a nicely done book, but it can't decide whether it should be a reference work or a piece of impassioned fandom...Until a Bible-sized guide comes along it'll make a nce gift for the talkative movie geek in the family.
Jamie.
